Hasn't anyone worked out that this is just another P
R stunt by BE - Why announce his sudden admiration for Adolf Hitler now? Well suprise, suprise the next GP in 7 days time is in ... wait for it ..... Germany. No different to the Donington/Silverstone saga or the "break-away" debate - all just a way of promoting a show - that's all! Call me sceptic if you want...! :?

Just the sort of thing the BNP will love. A highly influential individual sprouting this sort of nonsence, why don"t people learn from history.
If Bernie was in Germany in the late tirties does he really think that Hitler or any of the german high command would regard him as the perfect aryan male.
Yet more disgracefull publicity for a once glorious sport that is very quickly flushing itself down the toilet of bad taste.

Does anyone else notice the obvious mistake with Bernie's latest shenenigans? He's Jewish! Can't really see a Jew liking Hitler.

I don't think he was displaying any particular political alegance to Hitler or Saddam. Hitler did get things done but I suppose people jump fairly high when their leader will kill them if they don't jump. With the Saddam comment, I can understand where he is coming from. Whilst Saddam wasn't a very nice person, Iraq did have peace before America and UK illeagally and wrongly invaded for an oil grab I mean to spread "democracy". Don't get me wrong, both were nasty, dispicable people but you have to look at things in perspective.

erm, I think we can learn from history is that Hitler took a bankrupt country and took on the 4 most powerful nations on earth. He crushed one, crippled 2 of the others and was finally beaten by the US's immense resources and the Russian weather.

whether or not you support his political regime, the guy, as Bernie said got things done.

OMG what a total shock...
we have Nazi sympathisers on this forum!!!
I'm so shocked I don't know what to say. Would never have guessed based on some of the posts you see on here....

Is the sarcasm coming through or am I being too subtle?

Just kidding incase there are any Germans reading this. No racial stereotyping intended. You build great cars and brew some lovely beer and your country looks very nice. A holiday for me in Germany one day.

I think this could be another quote taking out of context by some journalist desperate to the front page. BE is right about dictators. Folk that say no to them tend to have quite a short life expectancy.

I just found the full quote on F1 live and it actually makes sense without bits being replaced by "...".

BE is right about Iraq. The place was stable under Saddam but it is now a madhouse. Interesting to know that Saddam was involved in a plot by the US to get rid of the then leader of Iraq in 1959. Why would BE be jailed? He is stating an obvious, if not contravarsial point. Lets face it if BE was a popular figure and he made this comment, most people would say "oh what an insightful gent". Must be a slow news day for this to get any attention. It is fairly irrelevant.

Just read a bit more on this on planetF1. I think this maybe a bit of a p155 take by BE. He seems to have his tongue firmly planted in his cheek. I think this is a bit of a PR aimed at being a wind-up to detract from all the hoo-ha there has been in F1 recently.
