Gifted the best car by Max and he is now the best ever. Ha Ha. He has done well with the car but the reasons are crystal clear. Hopefully Vettel or Rubens spoils his year. Then lets see how many fingers Jenson's dad holds up for all to see.

You should be successful at the ring,as you have one of the two best/fastest cars and according to JB himself, he is the best racing driver in history.

Do we know why he made that comment? Or if it was taken out of context? Because if he did genuinly mean it, I think he's being a little naive, I mean he's not even a WDC yet. Plus what about Schumacher, Senna and (purely for arguments sake :p ) Hamilton.

:D

Being a little naive or not I never remember reading about any of the real greats talking about himself like this, People should keep outside a radius of 10 meters from him just in case his head explodes, It must be full of hot air.
please note, It was a big surprise to me coming from JB.
xhannax, have you seen Jorge and Casey flying in Laguna Seca?

If, and it's a big if, JB did actually say he was the best ever, I am sure it was with his tongue buried very deep in his cheek. Some of the posters on here dont't recognise sarcasm or irony when they see it. Plus we have all seen in the past they way the media twist thing around for headlines and the way (especially in the UK) they build someone up, just to start having a go when they are successfull. JB is far more likable than many of those in the F1 paddock, and has worked hard for his success, not handed a winning car on a plate like some others.

Why is everyone getting their undergarments in a knot about this?

It's a fairly standard PR based comment, obviously aimed at firing-up the team ahead of the GP and to move on from a sub-standard result at Silverstone. He's not exactly going to go out there and say "Were gonna come last boys! Have a great weekend!" is he? Plus, the car has no sponsors so little speaches like this are important to create an air of confidence around the team and to attract potential investors and, of course, an engine supplier for next year. They have to keep on their toes as Red Bull have caught-up and Ferrari are looming in the background.

Sunny- Oh my gosh, yea, Lorenzo's especially looks horrific, he couldn't even walk afterwards so how he's going to race tonight I really don't know. They're both due to race so good luck to them really, I'd love to see Lorenzo win but how will his and Stoner's confidence be? In the nicest possible way, Rossi must be rubbing his hands together!
We'll see I suppose! :?

I didn't see the quote but I suspect it was taken out of context by the reporter like many of the "comments" attributed to Hamilton last year.

Reporters will always try and make mischief to promote their story so I would take these comments with a pinch of salt.

Rossi will show all these whipper-snappers how its done. Lorenzo will be bashed about a bit and Moaner I mean Staoner (sorry, typo) will fall ill at some point.
