Well I guess they could do a lot worse. He's never really been that consistent, but I've seen this man do some incredible things with a race car. He can definitely be brilliant when he really wants it.

Couldnt agree more sodesu! :) inconsistent but on a good day he can be excellent! Trouble is, he's 38 now, the sort of age that most drivers are retiring, I think it will be hard to get a drive with any team considering his age, especially as teams always go for the youngest drivers possible nowadays! If he's lucky, he might get to drive for the new US team but he won't be there for more than a couple of seasons :S If anything, they will keep him only for his experience till the team is off the ground, then ditch him for some younger talent

I don't want gladiators, ffs. I want racing drivers. I want professionals who don't behave like complete ****s to each other just because they want to win. I want people who do that on track, and leave the rest of it aside when they're talking to each other and in interviews.

Just 'cause the days of Villeneuve and Montoya are gone, when there was little choice but to be inflamatory, what with them being there, speaking out, like Jacques says, doesn't mean we need it back!
And I half suspect if he did come back we'd see enough comments fromother drivers about him not being sporting.

His pit crew laughing at him... What we want?

And that's not to say I never rated the guy - he won a championship after all, but I don't see him coming back, as he was disappointing with Sauber and BAR, and fell out with both. And he would just do his best to bring doucheyness back into the paddock.

Only chance will be with USF1, Campos or Manor. USF1 want "USA" drivers so that's out. As for Manor & Campos if they are even on the grid next year I would be surprised, if they are and they are less than 7secs off the pace I'd be even more surprised. And if JV was driving one of them then I'd be less surprised if Elvis arrived on earth in a flying saucer claiming to have arrived direct from Magrathea where he has been building a new Earth out of hamburgers.
