If you can't afford to play with the big boys, then just pick up your little pail and shovel and leave the sandbox. If you choose to be in F-1 then be prepared for what it will take to compete.
Further to this, had Max and Co. not mucked about the rules CONTINUOUSLY for the past years, costs would NOT have escalated to the level we see today. Rule changes, Max's statements not withstanding, are NEVER 'free'. I say dump the FIA/FOM and go forward with control of your OWN destiny....who needs Max and his jack-booted Brown-shirts ? Strike NOW FOTA, while you still can.

F1 » FOTA may need to build bridges to scrap budget cap

FOTA may need to build some bridges if it is to successfully do away with the F1 budget cap, Max Mosley has suggested - with unanimous agreement required to see the initiative scrapped.

The FIA legaly draft and enforce the F1 rules and Bernie represents the owners.
Fota is just a jumped up attempt to depose them.
Wake up race fans and smell the coffee.

autogyro, are you Moseley or Donnelley ?

Max is a sad senile bully, lying and tricking the teams into competing, then totally turning the tables and blackmailing them again into taking up his crass budget cap idea.... Read the article on Pitpass about how the budget cap can never work and will kill F1.... it is becoming increasingly clear that is what Max really wants.

Alex,

Spot on in your observations. ALL OF IT

I would like to add that the 5 teams knew the circumstances before they signed up to 2010 season.
Especially Williams and Force India.
If they Block FOTA, We the fans will have our breakaway!!!
The FIA "5" can race against themselves in Dated indentikit cars.
AND autogyro will be happy too :)

I find it interesting that the fans are so one sided in this. Mosley is evil, end of story. Actually, both parties are bad. Mosley is pushing bad ideas at too great a pace. But the Factories want to win at all cost. If anyone thinks a break away series will improve the competition and number of cars on the grid is wrong. Putting the factories in change will make things worse as they will put their individual needs ahead of all others. Anything that increases the grid size AND levels the field, the factories/big budget teams will be against. A low spending cap would do both.

Isn't there a rule about bringing the sport in to disrepute? And if so aren't Max and Bernie guilty of breaking it? Go on FOTA - go your own way and invite Williams etc to join you racing under a set of rules which are clearly understood and which Williams and Force India already have cars which conform.

Inviting Williams and Force is fruitless. They have an agreement with Max. Therefore no unanimous agreement can ever be reached. Max wants his budget cap in place and is going to great lengths to get his way.

FOTA break away and then come up with their own budget restrictions and rules. Formula 1 in all but the name. That will leave the FIA with something that is Formula Ford in all but the name,

spinmaster, is that you again Max ? or is it his vile lickspittle Donnelley ?

Truly hard to believe anybody bar paid FIA PR people actually believe the FIA spin, or have the gall to post.

There is no need for Max's budget cap, the Manufacturers are far better people for us to trust than anybody connected to Moseley or his FIA, when have FOTA done ANYTHING against F1 or the fans ? Never, to put it simply. Mercedes have been very kind and generous giving Brawn a probably Championship winning engine and there is a great mood of co-operation between the whole FOTA group, inspired by the need to get rid of the ever increasingly autocratic, domineering, power crazed lying deviant Moseley
