I do think he is one of the best drivers in the history of F1, he has focus, development skills and most importantly speed! And like he showed last year, he can make a slow car into a championship contending car. :D

I think there is a mis-conception on what the driver does to set up a car. Yes, he gives feed back and FA does that well but in NO way does a driver set up the car. This is done by the many who are PAID to read the data from the car. They may tie it into the drivers comments but in no way is it a drivers choice. The engineers handle that. To many drivers being called great set up men when it is actually a group of engineers who do that.

you guys make me laugh about alonso being the best developement racer,,if he was that good why are renault still fighting for the occassional point. The difference between Redbull and Renault is simple,,its called ADRIAN NEWEY,,not alonso and why on earth would ferrari need a blackmailer like alonso who is only happy at being the number 1 driver otherwise he starts crying. His value went down when a rookie equalled him at maclaren.Alonso was to be at Mac for 3 years but contract stopped after 1 year,so if ferrair wanted him, they would have got him then.Contracts can be broken you know

I totally agree with you guys who belive that alonso is one of the greatest drivers in f1 history. he is one of the few drivers who can give siginificant input into the car and can get everything out of the car. I belive that he is way better than hamilton, whom with all the respest I have for, has been really lucky since coming to f1. to me, alonso is the best driver in f1 rightnow. put him in ferrari and he will beat everybody fair and square.

I like Alonso and Webber the best out of all the current drivers on the grid today. They both have real character and are not fake and they remind me of F1 drivers of yesteryear's like your Nigel Mansell's and Jean Alesi's etc.
ps has anybody seen that clip of Kimi knocking that little girl over in the paddock and looking at his engineer smiling as he walks off? what a ****** that bloke is!
