If i was running for the Fia presidency the last person i would want backing from would be Mosley,If Max wants Todt he should have kept his mouth shut, cause he really has done him no favours,
In my view Todt should not even be considered, 1- because of the Ferrari connection, 2- because its what Mosley recommends,

Vatanen seems to be the right man for the job at the moment,
Or maybe just get rid of the Fia altogether and let Fota make ther own rules.

F1 » Vatanen: Mosley life story 'would be hardly credible'

FIA Presidential hopeful Ari Vatanen argues Max Mosley would not want to be remembered as the man who broke up F1 - and explains why he himself is a stronger candidate than Jean Todt.

After watching the interview with him on the beeb. I don't like this guy one bit. He strikes me as a suave, slippery, sneaky SOB. In my opinion.

He's another Max in waiting, except without the dry wit. Noone could accuse max of not being one funny SOB.

If Max was getting a lot of support from inside the FIA it's more than the front man that needs to change. Any news on Bernie's “peace by Wednesday” promise?

Whether Jean Todt, Ari Vatanen, Prince Harry or Linda Lussardi is the best candidate for the job is FIA President is not for me, you, the press or even the F1 teams to decide. It is a decision that must be made by each of the FIA's member clubs in an election. Which is why I think that Max Mosley's comments about who should succeed him are in poor taste. He should have absolutely no say or influence in choosing his replacement as his time has now passed.

Max has no taste, or dignity. Everyone should have seen this years ago. a) his fathers political interests b) his sexual preferences c) his childrens involvement in drugs etc. Surely these things point to the man that he is. He should be kicked out now, not let to leave with his head held high!

His head is not held high. He was ousted by FOTA.

I remember that Max helped Bernie create FOTA's predecessor the famed FOCA and everyone thought he would bring a level head to the FIA.

If I was given a choice between Vatanen and Jean Todt, I'd side more for the Fin. However, when you get down to it, I really think that Minardi's Paul Stoddart would be an excellent choice. He might shake up the whole organization!

What about Gil DeFerran? Great guy, well liked and honest. Maybe over qualified.
