One of the nicest guys in F1. Hope he makes a full recovery. 2 freak accidents in a week which involve drivers being hit in the head by debris. How unlucky can you get.

i really like massa as a driver and a sportsman he is an ok guy and i really hope he pulls through this ok it is a real shame to the sport when something like this happens, it just reminds you that no sport is 100% safe even though the fia do their best to try and make it safe.

any impact to the head is potentially life threatening. small bleeds can go undetected due to the large amounts of vessels in the head supplying the brain.

he's in the best place and we have to put our faith in the health professionals looking after him and whatever higher power you happen to believe in that he will make a full recovery.

Hopefully everything turns out OK for Felipe. Best of luck to you.

It reminds me of Cristiano da Matta's Champ Car testing accident at Road America. Cristiano's brain injuries were more serious I believe, and was in an induced coma for 2 weeks. He survived, but never made it back to Champ Car.

I hope the outcome is better than it was for poor Henry Surtees, god rest his soul. 2 tragedys of this sort in a week would be too much. I'm by no means a religious man but my prayers are with Filipe and his family tonight...
