paul, i too suggested on saturday, that poor flips eyesight might be affected. i earnestly hope it isnt, but lets look on the bright size, his son (when born) will luckily have a father to love and cherish him. it could have been so much worse.

It's a real shame this happened, but no one is to blame, it's just a freak accident. No one thought that a piece of Brawn's Car that fell off will hit anyone after 4 second's. it's just an accident. I hope he recovers and race again. The doctors is right, even if his eyes will not end his career.. it's impossible for him to race this season.

It just leave a question on who will replace him?.. Will schumi return.. I really hope he returns, even if it's just a replacement. I can't see Ferrari promoting any of it's test drivers as they really need to develop the car, they need someone with race experience. I really hope it's schumi.

The Helmut Marko, Tom Pryce and the British chap at Spa in 1960 (bird-strike) accidents are all brought to mind in the last week or so... sad times! Hope there is no immediate safety changes that result in more trouble... The aftermath of 1994 was pretty poor at the time!

That's awful news! Will be a tragedy if he can't return to f1, he's not only a good driver but also a very entertaining one.
It's not all over yet, nothing has been confirmed so let's just hope hecan get through this and maybe eventually return to his sport!
Again, love to Felipe and his family. X

crap this will likely end his F1 career. damned, no ones to blame its just a freak accident.
with regards to replacement I cant seem to find any prospects, I am just not thinking straight though, with had happen to Massa.
What about Michael Shumacher as temp replacement. Just to test the car, and give some feedback on what direction that the car moves unto.

From the beginning I suspecte that Massa's condition was much more serious than the press and Ferrari was leading us to believe...
At this point we should hope he makes a full recovery eventualy and is able to live a normal live.
Good luck Felippe, our prayers are with you.
