paul, i too suggested on saturday, that poor flips eyesight might be affected. i earnestly hope it isnt, but lets look on the bright size, his son (when born) will luckily have a father to love and cherish him. it could have been so much worse.

@Paul

Yeah same here. My girlfriends sister is a consultant eye surgeon. She was saying there's no way (or highly unlikely) he'd race again this year...if ever, her words were, if he makes an ok recovery he's been lucky. Medical pro's are sometimes over cautious and I really hope Felipe is ok and can race again but as long as he recovers well enough to enjoy his life with his family I'd be happy as would they.

I really do hope for his sake that he makes a proper and full recovery. He is a great driver and shall be missed in F1 untill hopefully fingeres crossed he gets back.

God knows what ferrari will do though without him or who they will bring in

Lets forget the blame game for one minute,

If Felipe does lose the sight in his left eye, It will finish his career. It will be a very sad loss indeed for a driver who has turned my poor opinion of him in the beginning, to that of a driver who is talented and gives 100 percent and is a good character to go with it.

Raikonnen could do with this guys work ethic and charisma!

to echo what previous posters have said...

this is very sad news indeed. lets hope and pray that whatever damadge has been sustained proves to be temparary and he recovers enough to lead a full active life in the the future.

i'm sure all our thoughts are with him and his family.

First and foremost, I hope Felipe recovers quickly and fully.

In any case, he's done for this year. I'm surprised to see so many mentions of Schumacher though... And no love for Alonso? C'mon... You KNOW he's in the red car for the next race... With Renault's blunder and suspension in his home country, you really think he's gonna sit it out? I'm sure he'll see this as a good reason to break his contract. Poor old Flav won't know what hit him.

I have to say I CANNOT wait to see Alonso in the macchina rossa fighting with Lewis in the silver arrow... FINALLY!!!!

(Go Lewis, in any case) :D

if flav was smart and he is. he would be able to wrangle a good deal out of it. if the trade was made for just one race. but ferando would be great to see.

back to massa, wish him all the best. tough times. a driver/rider can race just as well with full vision in one eye. The good eye takes over. Foggy only had full sight in one eye. But usually in these cases its when the person has had that problem before their career started so would know no different. sadly thats not the case for poor felipe. and if he has done damage to the eye its hard to see him returning. tho i hope im very wrong.

fingers crossed for u mate
