I think he did a good job.
Although he was down the field, I dont think he embarresed himself. If he makes no mistakes, and learns as he goes along, then he could turn into a decent driver.
Give him a bit of time!.

This has to go down as one of the most impressive debuts of all time. No testing, less than a year in anything higher than F3 (and only one year in F3), multiple predictions that he will struggle, and on a difficult weekend for the sport - and yet he gets through the race without error, at a circuit he doesn't know, somehow even ahead of his team-mate. We won't see his full potential until 2010, but he's obviously got a fair bit.

F1 drivers should be embarrassed, Jaime is not the top driver in Renault world series, and GP2 is supposedly above that. Well done to him but it makes F1 drivers look very over-rated. What could the drivers ahead of him in Renault world series achieve in F1?

Of course it's fairly easy to drive an F1 car. I think that at least 10% of all humans could learn to drive one fast enough for it not being embarrasing, but obviously only a small percentage of people ever get the chance even to compete in F3. The fact that there sometimes are considerable differences between team mates in F1 says enough about the competition level (ie, it's not nearly as high as in sports that everyone can do, otherwise the performance difference would be a lot smaller).

However, the really good drivers are the ones who can get those last couple of tenths out of the car. Some in F1 can do that...But unfortunately there are still some who apparently can't.

I think the lad can be rightly proud of his drive on Sunday..he didnt get outclassed by those around him, he didnt make any mistakes and he didnt hinder any other drivers....pretty solid outing! with another few races to add to his experience levels, he could move up 1-2 positions...

I was one of the doubters!!!!!

And I was wrong. I think he did an outstanding job considering he was pretty much thrown into the deep in. Maybe his big talking teammate Buemi isn't as good as he think he is considering a guy walked of the street, who is 8th in a junior league with no real F1 testing, and beat him in a car he's been driving all year.
