It's actually unreal how much attention Danica gets, just because she is a woman that can compete with men. That's all her fame is based upon, which just goes to shows how shallow and superficial the media really is.

Because based purely on her driving skills and results alone, she is an average driver. 1 win in 5 years of indycar is nothing special, and can really only be described as average. A man with her results wouldn't even get a billionth of the attention she gets.

The problem is that people mistake the amount of attention she gets with her actually being a great driver, which she isn't. She's average. Fair enough she is doing what no women before has done, but on the grand scheme of things that doesn't matter. Since she is competing against MEN as a DRIVER, she in IMHO shouldn't have the luxury of being looked at only from a female perspective, but should be judged soley on her skills as a racing driver against those of other racing drivers, regardless of their gender.
