His wife ripped it open. It cost Bernie his left hand and one of his boys.

Is this believable? It was reported in the Express.

Mabye Bernie has a heart after all. I bet there will be some way of getting the cash back from the strugglers anyway. It'll be more of a loan surely.

They are bound by the agreement to give this money. He is not doing it out of the goodness of his heart.

If it was reported in the express then I would take it with a pinch of salt. Or maybe a truck load. CVC giving more money to the teams? Doesn't sound likely.

This agreement is well known and has frequently been mentioned not least of all in connection with the "they had better be sure they can f***ing pull the trigger" boycott reports.

Be interesting to know how this is worked out, is it on results or just for competing?
Knowing Bernie it'll be a loan with interest repayable.
If it's worth enough it may be worth it to keep the smaller teams in I suppose.... Gotta have those back markers getting in the way

This is the money that was DUE to them.. Flav asked for it and got thrown out the building. It almost caused Bernie to cancel the planes. It's money he held over their heads to sign the new agreement. Mind you it was an agreement that no one wanted and did not sign. These are not loans.

I've heard from a reliable source that Bernie's wallet is so difficult to open it has a health warning stating that fingers may be lost due to the speed by which it snaps closed. Seriously, people have been hospitalised with hernias through trying (and failing) to open his wallet. The only way to open it through Bernie's secret incantation (and people laugh when I say that he is really Harry Potter - huh!).

The reason 50p pieces have seven sides is so that you can use a spanner to get them out of Bernie's hand.

I'd rather see teams paid for competing rather than prize money. This would allow teams to better budget. Motor racing is fickle enough already without knowing that the crowd thrilling toe to toe battle that resulted in you hitting the wall also cost the team a bundle of prize money. Successful teams get the kudos of winning and can attract bigger sponsorship packages.
