Recovering Ferrari star Felipe Massa has poured cold water on speculation that he could be set for an early return to action at Monza - suggesting his home GP in Brazil is a more likely target.

Interlargos is a far more realistic target....but it doesnt matter when he comes back, it will just be good to see him back on track

As long as he is 100% fit and healthy, with no risk of anything that happens 'normally' (ie the G-Force) in F1 making his injuries worse and he actually WANTS to and feel comfortable to return, I'll be ecstatic to see him back!
Good luck Felipe, you've done amazingly so far!!! XXX

Wait a minute.

It was Monza yesterday. Is this just yet more speculation or is it based on fact, i.e. has this been confirmed by his doctors, himself etc.

Good that he is recovering but there is no point him pushing himself too hard.

XHannahX I totally agree. Whilst not a Ferrari fan, I'm a huge motorsport enthusiast and am glad that one of the most affable characters in the pitlane is well on the road to recovery. I am concerned, however, that he may come back this season - Ferrari have nothing to gain, nor Felipe himeslf, and I hope they take the more sensible option of building him up ready for next season. However, I'm sure there are many better placed people than I to pass judgement on his fitness, and if he is deemed to be fit, I look forward to seeing him back behind the wheel and duelling it out with the others in the future.

Raikkonen has not telephoned or visited Felipe Massa since his Ferrari teammate was injured at the Hungarian Grand Prix last month.

"Kimi has not called but I saw a video made by Sky (television) with all the drivers. He sent me a card to the hospital," Massa, 28, told Brazilian reporters on Monday. What a team mate.

Yep, and Massa goes onto say that this is not a problem as Raikonen is a "unique guy".

Not really of any relevance. The only other current driver to see him is Barrichello. Better start laying into the other 20 drivers.

Andy: "Dont risk it, wait till next season..."

Why would next season be any less risky? If he is fully recovered and fit to race for Interlagos then he is at no more risk than any other driver. If his injury now means he is at more risk if he suffers another head injury then that will be true next year as well. If you think that his injury won't have recovered by then and he'll be an accident waiting to happen, don't you think the F1 doctors would pick that up in the very stringent medical tests he is going to have to go through before they let him back in the car?
