Or if he'll be driving! If the F.I.A find him guilty of winning the Singapore race in the fashion that's being suggested then I think that Alonso might find himself playing a lot of golf next year because I can't imagine that he's be driving a racing car!

F1 » Alonso: I don't know where I'll be driving in 2010

Double F1 World Champion Fernando Alonso has sought to hush talk of a switch to Ferrari either at Monza or in 2010, insisting that even he doesn't know where he'll be driving next year yet...

Seriously, even if the car would suck, you'd get the blame and be replaced in the middle of the year and never drive a GP after that, it still would have been the good decision to go to Ferrari, because you'll have driven for Ferrari in F1, the highest you can achieve as a driver.

But apart from that, again, I don't see FA there in 2010, except if Massa doesn't recover.

If Ferrari don't win everything next year with Kimi and Massa (which judging by the car now, they won't) FA will be there in 2011, but not next year.

That's the last thing I'll say about it.

@BW

The driver will never be punished by that. The blame will be on Flava Flav, who will consequently try to prove that it was one of his minions who took that decision on his own without Flav knowing.

He already got away with that play when Jos Verstappen's car burned a little with that famous pitstop. A Gopher guy (sort of like an intern) who was at the team for just some months alledgedly all by himself came up with the idea to take out one 'safety ring' from the fuel rig, enabling it to handle 13.5 litres of fuel per second instead of 12 litres.

Yeah, right...But the FIA couldn't prove (obviously) that Flava or other team leaders were involved, so they couldn't be punished personally.

Everyone knows that FA's going to Ferrari next year so I cannot agree with JJ's comments. The only reason for the delay in announcement is that Ferrari are stalling as they aren't too sure that Massa will fully recover from his injuries and don't want to confirm Kimi's exit only to find they have lost a prior Champion with no comparable immediate replacement available. This is the true background to Ferrari's request to run a third car next season and has nothing to do with the Shumacher publicity stunt!

On the Alonso Renault-Gate issue, if FA does loose the points from the Singapore GP in 08 Hamilton will gain 2nd place in the revised race result, thus increasing his historic 1 point

Aye, he doesn't know 'cos Renault may have been busted. If they have been naughty and do get found out, I wonder if this will be the end of the unscruplous team managers and the prima-donna drivers?

andrewm, you seem to have vultures sitting on your fence just waiting to pounce. I think it is a long shot that they will be found out even if there is a mis-demenour, which I somehow doubt it. But if they do you could be right in part. :)

Perhaps another disgruntled former Renult employee (apart from NP) might have an axe to grind as did Nigel Stepney.

The fresh evidence taken to FIA must have had substance for FIA to take the matter very seriously.

Flav being devestated by the claims (did not laugh it off) adds spice to the drama.

He has most to lose if found guilty and Renult pulls out hence many Renult employees will lose their jobs - it will ruin his lifestyle
