F1 » EXCLUSIVE Nigel Mansell on Button, Singapore...and Rossi

Sort Comments: Oldest | Newest

Valentino and Nige should just get an room. This public affection thing they've got going on is something that should be kept private. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

I guess what with nige living on the isle of man, he'd be looking at the birch if it was consumated. A repressive and depressing throwback to less tolerant days.

He is right though - the F1 paddock is not a place for Rossi - WSBK is where he should be.

I can't believe the guy is back in the headlines. Nigel Mansell...still living the dream...he just wont go away. He reminds me of one of those 70's rock bands that keep on touring and boring the sh-t out of RSL and bowling clubs...Nigel the time is nigh. the Lawman

Nigel is the real deal, and he shows it again in this interview. Most important is what he doesn't say about the whining small and smaller Nelson Piquet clan. It must have been hard for Nigel to be quiet about those two, but he did.
But what did he say? He recognized greatness. His observations about Rossi reveal Nigel's champion's character. He recognises supreme ability where he finds it, both on the track and in the man. It takes class to acknowledge another master, and Mansell has class.

Nige was probably the last real "character" in F1.Sure he was high maintainance and liked a moan but he always had an opinion and wasn't afraid to air it.A bit like a Johnny Rotten(without the swearing)for F1.Any comments from the red 5 are always good value and usually spot on!

I find it interesting what he says about Hamilton. If you are winning championship after championship and have never faced adversity or tough times you may not know how to act once you fact them. I think you can apply the same thing to Piquet Jr. Niether one of them have really faced though times like they have in the last 1 1/2. LH has grown from his ordeal - I hope that Piquet Jr will do the same.
