Standard F1 team tactic,

YOu get yourself into trouble and then in order to scare the other party away you issue legal action against them in the hope that the cost of fighting scares them away.

All the teams do it.

Renault will have consulted legal teams before announcing this action - therefore they must have strong reasons to believe the allegations cannot be proven.

Would love to see a Renault team compete against a Piquet-Sauber team next year now!!!

Alonso, who was at the centre of blackmail allegations during his time at McLaren - when he threatened to reveal details of the Spygate scandal - insists that he was unaware of any plot to rig the Singapore event. But he is ok with stealing Ferrari info and putting it on the McL. Do I detect a smell of sulfur when FA is around any team for too long?

agree andrewm.. Briatore is the one who rescued him from McL. Two peas in a pod. And I think the Regie protest too much. If smart they should have waited to hear all the information.
