Fred1 - while I do agree with you to some extent, I think that they are totally different situations.
The situations you mentions while yes, seemed deliberate, they were allcases of drivers fighting against their main oponent for the title. Piquet Jr was all about crashing on his own to benefit the team.
Not sure I was able to explain what I mean but I think you get the idea...

What a strange way to deliberately crash though...A front wheel against a barrier would have done the same job...

If the FIA hasn't got more solid evidence, the benefit of the doubt should prevail. If it doesn't in the FIA disciplinary court, it would in a real judicial one...

Once this one is addressed the FIA should also take a look at the other commonly questioned move....that of the last lap in Brazil 08...again I think we all know it was too good to be true...

The Flabby one speaks:

Talking about the upcoming WMSC hearing he said "You know what? Whatever happens, if someone goes against the rules, they go against the rules. If I tell you to go rob a bank - afterwards, you decide whether to rob the bank or not."

Flabby makes statements like this before the hearing - what an idiot. He also contradicted the statement made by Symonds. Can nobody tell the emperor to put his clothes back on?

Rather than worry about what happens if the "fix" is proven, F1 needs to worry about their image if the "fixed" result is allowed to stand without punishment.

In the same article on another sport website, Patrick Head also commented that a journalist mentioned this to him on the same day of the accident, claiming Piquet had told him (the journalist) just 15 minutes earlier.

Which, if true, is pretty damning, but also carries no weight. It looks more and more as if Piquet is telling the truth, but I'm not sure how they can conclusively prove it.

Also, why did that journalist not write about it the next day? Or did he and nobody took any notice?
