The FIA is part (of not the root cause) of the rot ... what with its president involved in hooker scandals, irregularities in awarding rights to 2010 teams, double standards in past punishments, interference by race officials in the outcome of races & championships, agreements favouring one team over another, etc, etc.

will this be another case of double standards? Mosley has stated that "the evidence in the case is more damning and serious than that against McLaren-Mercedes during the 2007 espionage controversy" so the penalty should be the same if not more. The fact that Briatore & Symonds have 'left' the team is irrelevant as McLaren & Ferrari sacked those responsible in their espionage case

i think that round should be dropped from last year. because it was a fix. thats what they do in other sports. i dont think it is fair that points are awarded when the race results have be planned out.

FIA needs to call in consultants to analyze F1 and make recommendations.

The rot in F1 has got too big for FIA/FOTA.

@ jeff88

The only fair thing to do is exclude the results of Singapore, but even that doesnt help the championship situation.
Lewis & McLaren went into the last race knowing exactly what they needed to do to win the title, & they did it (only just). If the Singapore results had been different, perhaps they would / could have done more?

It's almost got to the point where the FIA should declare both Massa & Lewis joint 2008 Drivers Champions, & leave Massa to seek damages from Flavio & Pat for the loss of a World Champions extra revenue lost in the interim.

Those desperate people who seem to exist purely to diminish LH's achievements have started to crawl out of their holes. If the results of singapore are annulled, fair enough, but that ISN'T what normally happens as I explained yesterday. The limit of it will be that the race result (and prize money) is amended to reflect a disqualification for Alonso.
They idea of annulling the race is at least a possibility, but the idea of woking out who WOULD have won if the incident hadn't occurred is just daft. Get over it.

"Briatore and Symonds to face criminal charges?"

The FIA may have given Piquet Jr. immunity but surely the criminal charges will not ignore Piquet's involvment.
