F1 » Damon Hill: Renault penalty 'a crying shame' for F1

Former F1 World Champion Damon Hill has described the outwardly lenient penalty handed out to Renault over the 'Singapore-gate' race-fixing scandal as 'a crying shame for the sport' and 'typical' of recent inconsistencies.

yeah, lets all cheat...if you don't you are at a disadvantage...they'd probably not find out and if they do what's a suspended sentence...they need teams more than sport!

Nothing like the crying shame for F1 if Moseleys puppet Toad is allowed to sneak in to the FIA Presidency.

Currently Ari Vanatanen is being told to stay at home, away from FIA evnts, while Toad is being flown all over the world at FIA expense as a "Road safety ambassador".. along with his Actress wife, also herself on important FIA business it is claimed.

The FIA is an utterly corrupt Kangaroo court that needs dealing with ASAP.

The whole F1 show is more corrupt than an MP on Clapham Common selling depleted uranium to a Taliban transsexual, then putting it all on expenses!

I don't think I'll watch another F1 race as long as the dwarf, toad, moseley et al have anything to do with it!

What does that have to do with anything? Hill has a a huge amount of experience in F1 and is as qualified as anyone else to comment on it.

And you know what, he's right.

Points for the 1997 season? Hill 7 - 2 Diniz
That's a 350% asskicking by Hill.

It's not only a crying shame, it's a sham to begin with. Max, Bernie & the FIA are a public disgrace to the sports. If Max & Bernie were in the Olympics Committee, they would have been sacked a long time ago.

Phil W, What the points dont show was that despite being a clear number 2 in the team and often having inferior equipment, Diniz consistantly managed to match Hill in 1997 and occasionally beat him. In fact, in the 7 races that they BOTH finished, Diniz beat Hill 4 - 3.

Besides, he is wrong. The FIA concluded that the only team members that knew of the plit were Briatore, Symonds and Piquet. Piquet was given immunity and the other 2 were punished. Now Briatore and Symonds have left the team, why should the team continue to be punished?
