Well done Alex Yoong... cos he really set the world on fire on his last F1 outing.

A season plodding around the back of the grid, or being dug out of gravel traps beckons.

Why didn't they just call themselves Proton? Would have made much more sense. This is Lotus in name only. As for drivers, I expected Fauzy and Yoong to be mentioned. Maybe Nelsinho will end up here. He's gonna be placed somewhere, you can be sure of it. A Singapore jail, possibly.

@ Rozza Yoong said the role he was offered wasnt a driving role. He also said "the drivers chosen should be the best that can be found" and that him taking a driving role would "send out the wrong message".

I admire him for saying that, he knows he isnt quite F1 standard and has admitted it by saying that. At least that shows he isnt big headed and full of sh*t like a lot of other drivers

As a businessman who has been doing business with that region for the last 12 years, Yoong is only there to lend some credit to the new management that's to be coming in soon. In Malaysia the boss in any project with this level of publicity must be a Muslim, even if he has no experience or expertise.

james, i think that it will not be long before we hear lalli/senna staking a claim to the seat. at least there will be a common thread. it will not be the real lotus, and it will not be the real senna. both just using revered names to garner interest.

Finally talent get's recognised - Yoong is one of the finest drivers ever to grace a GP grid, and it will be an honour to view his return to the paddock next year. Few have shone as brightly as this young malaysian gentleman, maybe Ralf Schumacher, Pedro Lamy and Andrea DeCesaris can be mentioned in the same breath.

Far better than the overrated likes of Messers Hamilton, Raikonnen, Alonso and Massa.

AndrewM, you couldn't of hit the nail on the head any squarer than you did. This whole team and everything surrounding it is a joke and they are dragging the great name of Lotus down.

greased up.... read the article. yoong is NOT being offered a drive, only a job in the paddock. he himself dismisses the possibility of a drive as it would send out the wrong message.
