What is the point of the FIA putting in a technical fix/ requirement (i.e. the delta system) if it does not then enforce its own rules.

Rosberg exceeded the time delta and therefore broke the rules and should be subject to a penalty. THe pit crew should tell him if he was going too fast they have all the telemetry.

Inconsistency again from the FIA.

Inconsistency again from the FIA i agree

tho it slightly balances up brawns getting away with their Q2 laps not being taken away

still dont make it correct tho, just shows rules are there for when they are wanted to be enforced rather than 100% of the time

The FIA's inconsistent application of it's own rules drags the sport down to the level of farcical comedy.

They muddy the waters and meddle with results. This reeks!

How do the stewards square this with Rosberg's interview with the BBC in which he insisted that he could see the time delta on his wheel and it told him he'd gone slow enough? Presumably they didn't see that.

Oh hang on didn't we have 5 cars dropped down the grid yesterday for not slowing under yellows?

Oh yes FIA inconstancy and hypocrisy strikes again or is BE and co pulling the strings to keep the championship alive till the last race. Were the Torro Rosso's told to deliberately crash in quali to disadvantage the Brawns and hand the advantage to Red Bull. Who knows with F1 these days, you don't know what to believe anymore. :?

Well I'm going for the complete opposite view on this one. I think that the FIA made the right call for once, they used common sense!

Yes Nico may have gone a little too fast BUT he couldn't see the delta and he did slow when he saw the yellow flags. Never did he put anyone in danger and I'm sure it's not something he did delibratly or will do delibratly in the future.

So, yea, good decision from the FIA, I'm impressed!!! :D

No excuses - His team should have notified him by radio to ensure he knew The teams could easily set up an flag/lights auto instantenous alarm to drivers via radio.

Well, the FIA need to update the electronics so this can't happen again, otherwise there is no point in the teams adopting such a sophisticated system. A 25 second penalty for Rosberg would be harsh if he really didn't see the data, though this appears to be under some doubt. I guess opinion is divided between those that support Brawn and those that don't. Regardless, the stewards should have evaluated the time advantage Rosberg gained and penalised his result by the same amount of time. Few could argue with that, and it might just have been enough to elevate Barichello and Button to 6th & 7th, not to mention Nick Heidfeld who had a great drive and deserved 5th.

For once common sence has been employed by the stewards and the result was decided on track without endangering anyone. It wouldn't have even got anyones attention had Jenson Button not mentioned it. If both Brawn drivers had done better jobs than Nico there would have been no problem.
