Gordon Brown NEEDS to be gotten rid of, take over Labour and change everything! lol Actually I think Jeremy Clarkson would be a GREAT prime minister, pratically everything that comes out of his mouth is contraversial but total genius and so true!!!

Was reading something by James May the other day and he was saying that on Top Gear they have to fill pages and pages of Health and Safety docs before they can do even simple things, let alone the more dangerous stunts

The way I look at it is If you're stupid enough to do some of these things then I suppose you deserve what you get!

That's how I view H&S, PCness etc. Freedom of choice and all that. It should be the individuals choice but thanks to the suing culture and the nanny state we have to be spoon fed everything and their is no personnal accounablity.

And you'll like this one. I had to do a survey of an industrial unit owned by a major oil related company. To get to this unit I had to walk accross a busy yard and was told to wear a high-viz vest, hard hat and steel toe cap boots. The person escorting me to this unit didn't bother with any of the village people outfit. Good eh?! The company is so scared of getting sued by an outside operative but don't give a stuff about their own people.

It is absolutly ridiculus!

It won't be long before everything and everyone has to be coated in layers of buble wrap, just in case you trip on a pavement or walk into a lamppost (although that might just be me, hehe).
But you then go to somewhere like Portugal and you can just walk to the edge of a cliff with no fence or anything, instead they rely on a person's common sense to stop at the edge just leads to noone having any sense over here I suppose!

The majority of H&S legislation and wotnot has saved lives but it has got to the stage where there is not accountablity on the individual. The one that annoys me is asbestos. Yes it is dangerous and it can kill, there is no disputing that fact but there have been times when I have said to an occupier of a building I am looking at that there is suspected asbestos in some areas and they start panicking. I blame the media for that one as whenever there is an asbestos death reported they always fail to report that if it is undisturbed it is safe. You could have a lump of the stuff in your living room and it will be practically 100% safe as long as it is not broken and handled with care.

Right that's enough time on me soap box on the nanystate. Off to the one about the Scottish GP to continue bad mouthing Trump. Care to chip in?
