It shows how far NASCAR has come in recent years. As the racing gets ever more competitive, a new breed of driver is emerging which is remarkably similar to those driving throughout Europe, one look at the champions for the last 7 or 8 years proves that. They are moving away from the very 'amateur-like' drivers of old to drivers with a very professional mindset.

It gets a lot of stick from those who know little about the sport in detail, but technology in NASCAR is surprisingly high end, despite the rather outdated engine setup, and Toyota have a massive investment in the sport!

Its nice to see this increase in support. Montoya is going to win soon (on an oval) and good for him!

Having never seen a NASCAR race, is it a better series than F1 or are the races just as boring?

Living in Quebec, i had the chance to look at quite a few Nascars races.
As long as they are running street circuit, the show is in my opinion really really good.
But i think i will never understand the point of running on oval. My fellow american people tend to think it is great, as for me i find it quite boring.
In my opinion, race series in north america are really entertainning on street circuit, but loose much appeal as they do so little of them.
This element taken aside, the driver battling on track make the show quite good.

I was thinking about it.
Here in Quebec, the F1 coverage is not really good, so i cut myself from news and such for a few hour and wait for BBC coverage to be avaible for download on the internet.
You might just be able to do the same, i am more than certain that at least certain NASCAR races are avaible for dowload.

@Andrewm

The oval tracks can be boring, but there is lots of slip stream overtaking even on the road courses. Also on the road courses you can actually see ballsy overtaking moves as you can actually out brake someone. Its got its appeal I guess is what I'm trying to say.
