I really wish that crash would stop using the word "eye" when writing reports of Massa. It really is inappropriate.

Instead of saying: "Massa healing well, but eye now on 2010"

Why not say: " Massa healing well and concentrating on 2010"

it will be a pity if flip cant make abu dhabi. BUT----, is there any reason why he could not be allowed to drive the car in one of the practice sessions? after all, fisi is only a sub, and last week, toyota were able to allow their sub to drive in practice and then have timo in quali.

Richard, since it was a pre-race session where he sustained his injury, the risk factors in practice are going to be not much less than a full race. If he is not racing for medical/fitness reasons, I don't think they would (or should) allow him on track for a practice session.

Anyway, it would be very unfair on Fisi. He is struggling to learn the car as it is, and if he had to give up one of his practice sessions to Massa then he'd be at even more of a disadvantage.

alan, i am not downplaying the dangers of practice, but the incident was entirely unforseen. normally a person coming back only needs medical reports and flip has been passed a1. he has also been using the simulator, and this would give an indication as to his recovery. fisi is a stand in, and it is the end of the season, so letting flip drive in one of the practice sessions would be entirely appropriate.after all. fisi would drive in the others, quali and race. he is only a test driver next year.

Given the short amount of time to set up the car Massa driving in the practice session with Fisi not turning a wheel until Saturday is just stupid. Why should Fisi loose out? He is clearly still getting used to the car and needs as much pre-qualifying and race miles as he can get.

andrew, its the last race of the season and fisi wont need race miles! there are three practice sessions over a number of hours,so a short stint would do flip a world of good and ferrari could see how he performs on the track.
