Bernie in "not a bad idea" shocker!

Obviously a rare moment of lucidity still occurs with him now and again...shame it's not a more regular thing.

hats off to him a good idea, testing on monday will cost very little and will allow new drivers to get some miles, maybe there should be a ban on testing new parts.

Sounds good...so what's the catch? :?

New drivers definatly need to beable to test before going into a full blown race weekend, it has left teams in very difficult positions. They have to choose drivers based on things other than recent F1 experience which hasn't really worked as yet.

If they'd had chance to test, would Badoer, Grosjean, etc been chosen or would they have tested a few and chosen the best? Liuzzi has proven to be a good catch I'd say, but apart from that noone really stands out.

After this other Japenese driver has raced in Brazil we'll have had 25 drivers this year

:)

My choice would be to leave the testing as free as possible for the day(s) selected. Teams wanting to try new parts should be able to do so, for the progress of development. In my view it will be very hard to use a single day of testing for judging new drivers by the way - it might give some kind of impression perhaps, not enough to select between them i bet, apart from maybe their ability to adapt fast enough to a new car/team. The idea of testing after races is promising, let teams decide what they would like to test and with who... :)

It is an obvious idea, but from Max and Bernie, the men who caused hundreds of millions to be wasted on KERS, let alone the constant messing with the rules and goalposts to no great effect other than more massive costs for the teams... LOL.

We need rid of these 2 idiots.

It seems they stiffed the BMW team for their role in FOTA and the threatened breakaway, they have got Ron and Flabbio already and there is the story about engine overrevs at the Italian GP that Max is saving for a rainy day not too far away. How will he play that one given that it is already in the public domain ? People know that he already knows, why the delay max fred autogyro moseley ?

Also make it possible for fans to meet the drivers at the test sessions. It is a joke that the die-hard fans will most likely never meet a driver yet many a celeb who have no idea get to do grid walks and stand in the pits.

The testing ban has only helped to create a runaway season for the likes of Brawn and Red Bull, as other teams have been unable to develop their cars as quickly as before. It was a great idea, NOT.

Anything that seeks to redress this situation can only be good.

McLaren seemed to have developed their car pretty well during the testing ban.
