A) He is not in prison, unless you call that amazing gin palace a prison, B) It might have turned very nasty and he could have turned out to be a killer !!. At the end of the day he is a crook !!

F1 » Bernie: Briatore 'life term' more than killers receive

F1 commercial rights-holder Bernie Ecclestone has courted controversy once more in suggesting that a 'life sentence' for Flavio Briatore makes the Italian look worse than a killer.

There could be more life sentences when Max's memoirs come out. He said to have the lawyers ready. Wasn't he against private matters becoming public knowledge. I for one will be buying the book.

oh bernie, you get worse every day! killers tend to get life, behind bars. and ok, prisons are a bit better today than yesteryear. BUT , whilst i agree that briatore should have a life ban, IF he is found guilty, at least he will be able to spend it in the lap of luxury on his yacht, surrounded by supermodels. i wouldnt mind that sort of ban myself!

I'd like to hear what he has to say, but no way am I going to pay for it and make Max even richer. With every copy sold, Max will become a little more pompous. You think he's bad now. Imagine what he would be like if F1 fans made him into a number one best seller.

Well, except for the fact that he's free and still has millions, perhaps billions of pounds.
Otherwise yes, it's totally worse than if he had killed someone.

Oh, Bernie. Shut up.

Flavio doesn't deserve this treatment - you wouldn't treat a murderer the way he's been handled by the F1 world.

Finding himself ostracised by friends, colleagues and the paddock administrators, that's just not fair for a man who has given his heart and contributed so much to the sport. For me, he's up there with the greatest men ever to work within motorsport, and perhaps one of the greatest contributors to the advancement of humanity itself over the last 20 years.

Flav, just to let you know there are those of us who do support you - come on fellow crashers, show your love for this wonderful human being by posting your messages of support and love here.

I agree with Bernie. Briatore should instead only have to go to prison for 5 to 10 years. That would be fairer.

As for the real race fixing issue, i.e. race fixing for the purpose of financial gain, that is a different matter for the authorities to pursue seperately.

Bernie would want to steer well clear of that one.

The more I think about it, the more Flav Fan and Bernie make sense. The whole thing is a bit harsh, especially as Flav has devoted his life to the sport.
