anna, dont forget he is paying $25m for the drive, so another impecunious team may be forced into giving him a seat. last year, he claimed that the big teams were talking to him, but this year he is trying to buy himself a drive. still, didnt nikki do that also, and look where it got him!

Richard, I must admit I am perplexed at just WHY you are so fervently anti-Bruno Senna. No sooner is a story posted on crash than you are commenting on it in a negative fashion. Care to elaborate on your dislike of Bruno? To me it just seems like he is a decent young driver trying to get himself a deserved break.

gordon, i am not anti senna. i have said in the past, give him a test and see how he does. but i am strongly against anyone who changes his name to try and secure a drive, based on his uncles skills, and who drags round a shed load of money to buy a seat. there are many less well funded drivers around who deserve a drive more so than senna, and i feel sorry for them not being able to get the opportunity to drive, because their name has no historical connections.

YAWN
Utterly and entirely bored of Bruno 'Sennas' chat.
Would have absolutely no hint of a career without the name change- dont say your not riding on your uncles coat tails when you changed your surname to get some coverage.
Hugely more talented guys around who deserve a chance at the top flight, not just another average pay driver taking up a seat.

@doit, agreed, this is going to get tedious and it's only October. Ayrton Senna da Silva took his mother's name, while Bruno's mother's surname is Lali. Would be ironic if he did drive for "Lotus" - they're both adopting names they have tenuous connections with! Nelson Piquet is an adopted name too: wonder if Nelsihno is going to reappear under his real name?

The 4 new teams just means a return to the old pay driver days which, depending on your opinion of Nakajima and Sutil, thankfully have been absent for the last few years. The only silver lining is that Adam Carroll has found a few quid!

@melonfarmer, actually Bruno's mom's maiden name in senna as she is Ayrton's sister. But I do agree it's odd he taking his mom's surname (senna) when his original surname is Lalli.

But since his uncle did it I guess he could do the name change too

I'm getting a bit tired of all the Senna-bashers on here. SHUT UP it's boring! Give the guy a chance to actaully RACE and F1 car before you slate him (Richard). Who cares if he changed his name, it's not really important is it? Let him do his talking on the Grand Prix circuits. If he is good, call him what you want he won't care. If he's another Nelsinho, his name won't keep him in the sport for long. I think he'll do alright though.
