Bit of a scary one for Raikonen. Not as bad as Jos Verstappen at Hockenhiem in 94 though - that was just epic that one.

My heart was in my mouth when that Ferrari was engulfed in flames and Kimi jutted to the left, was just thinking 'please let him be alright', and thankfully he was. Although they showed replays from different angles, by far the worst was from inside the **** pit, looked like it burnt his hands.
Real credit to him that he kept going regardless and finished a very respectable 6th.

So whos fault was it...

McLaren let Kovi away early so it is their fault. At least when Ferrari do that, they don't set other cars and people on fire.

McLaren fluffed up and tried to incinerate the competition with their prototype aferburner which will be on next years car to give an extra boost.

A bit over dramatic if you ask me - burned his eyes in deed - can't be that bad if he finished sixth. It requires almost superhuman effort to drive these cars. You don't finish sixth if you're impaired in any way.

In my opinion looked worse than it really was, scary yes but just a flash point of fire - no real heat or intensity - over as quickly as it started.

They wear fire retardent suits and I doubt very much any fuel, vapor or otherwise, entered his helmet and ignited - you wouldn't just carry on if it did.

He's just milking it to make sure the stewards look more closely at McClaren - call it sportsmanship. They were clumsy and deserve some penalty but it was just an accident.

It could have been a lot worse.
It was the Mclaren Lollipop man to blame, no one else.

And fair play to the brawn team for taking off the fuel hose, they were quick on the scene.

MJR, what is wrong with you. First of all, Raikkonen always talks straight up, he doesn't embellish anything ever. Second, you weren't there. You can't tell from a video replay on trule how bad it was.

If anyone is wondering about how Petrol was in his eyes, well unless you want to suffocate your drivers, a helmet and visor aren't going to be airtight.

How many of you think that lulu would finished the race had the same thing happened to him. I think he'd jump out crying. What a race by Button the new WDC!!!!
