This article has an anti-Honda tone to it. But it is widely agreed in F1 that Honda behaved admirably and went above and beyond what could have been expected in order to give the team the best possible chance of survival.

As usual things are not what they seem

try the headline

Brawn GP COULD have earned $255 million from F1 2009 TV coverage, IF they had charged commercial advertising rates for every second of their exposure....

I'd be suprised if they actually made a tenth of that.

Lol dan your on the ball son!

Brawn only had 2 sponsors i know of. MIG and Virgin.
Also why didnt Mercedes allow them use of the 3 pointed star and branding on the engine cover?
Mclaren veto perhaps?

Yes, but Button won 6 times not 7, so they've won 8 races total. The 7 wins for Button in the article is wrong.

Thankfully some have already mentioned Brawn didn't actually receive 255MM in their pockets.

It's just a theoretical value of their exposure where someone adds up the minutes they were on TV and multiplies that by some arbitrary value somebody came up with on the way back home while simultaneously thinking what he'll have for dinner later.

What they really received was the cash from Honda, the approximately 50MM for winning the championship, 7MM from Virgin, some cash from MIG and some from smaller sponsors.

Then there are tons of expenses on the other side...

But JJJ

Most importantly they are on the map now.
Mercedes wants in too which means security for all concerned at Brawn. Good job too!

Mapfre was on the sides of the engine covers on Sunday, i think they are a big Spanish insurance company (they also sponsor Aspar 125/250cc gp teams).
The other name Itaipava (on the sidepods & rear wing)is something to do with a Brazilian hotel company so i presume was a one-off deal.

Brawn, and other members of senior management including Nick Fry, bought the outfit from Honda for a single symbolic British pound, and discussed calling their new team 'Pure Racing', the 54-year-old revealed. Pure lucky is my opinion. Max's help. UK goverment help. Virgin gets 60m in exposer and Brawn gets sponsors to pony up the cash. Max you did a wonderful job. He got them everything they needed and a WDC and constructors to boot.

Richard, the sponsor Graham is a high end watchmaker named after George Graham - 'the father of the chronograph'.

Just Google Graham watches to find their home page. It looks like nice kit but probably very expensive.
