Ok before the Webber bashers start their usual rantings here, I want to put my thoughts forward.

I know Mark personally and to all you bashers out there, you won't meet a nicer and more down to earth F1 driver if you try. He isn't political, he isn't a whinger, and he certainly isn't a blocker!

He drives with his heart and actually races like his life depends on it.

And he's a fabulous driver. He's had years of rubbish cars that he's dragged into positions that they didn't deserve and now with the Red Bull working, he's actually beaten the 'Vunderkind' in 9 out of 16 races this year, which bearing in mind he still had a broken leg during the first few races is pretty damned awesome!

All drivers in F1 are BLOCKERS. No offense to Mark. And yes, I for one did not believe he could come back from such a bad injury so quick. He did impress me there.

I like Webber but sometimes I think he does push the boundries of what is acceptable to defend a position. I forget what race it was earlier this year but he drove someone accross the pit exit and onto the grass in the run to the first corner. It is interesting how different the reactions to these moves are depending on who is driving. If it was Schu doing this there would be a lot more people crying foul.

Webber has had a good season in all respects. He's an honest typical "speak as you find" Aussie, who will offend some with his frank views, but should be respected for the strength of opinion he's voiced in the GPDA and over other pertinent issues effecting the sport. Only his missguided loyalty to Flav B' leaves me with concern. As a driver he's long overdue to reach his full potential, and now with a car capable of winning a championship he's in with a shot. Though I very much doubt over a whole season he'll beat his teamate - who I see as the main contender alongside Hamilton and Alonso for Button's crown in 2010.

I think Mark is a good driver, but he has one problem in my opinion. He is very critical of other drivers defending their positions agressively, but has no problems in doing the same thing himself.

Either he should stop critizing other drivers or he should stop defending in the same way himself!

I think the 'blocker' and agressive comments are misplaced. I mean, should he just give up positions? I like to see RACING and Mark races... I mean, The Rubens thing in Germany, he moved across but couldn't see Rubens, the 'swerve' came after the contact, moving away from the Brawn.
Anyway, I'm not going to restart that debate!
I want to see racing. Surely we all do? I don't want to see people just politely moving out of the way when fighting for the lead of a Grand Prix.
Remember Senna? He wouldn't have moved out the way!

Webber is as honest as the day is long and he doesn't mind calling a spade a spade. He's the only driver on the grid who'd I'd want to go for a beer with. I'm sick of hearing from fanboys who worship those little overpaid ponces LH, FA and KR!!!

I had the pleasure of meeting Mark in Barcelona a couple of seasons ago.

HE is a very personable but committed guy. He has been one of the unluckiest drivers on the grid over the year and has a natural talent.

Like Button over the years he has struggled in bad cars, next year with his confident high from this season and in a good car then he can challenge.

I wish him all the best (despite being a Button fan)

It will be a really good battle next year. Good luck to all of the teams and drivers.

mickey moos. you say that webber is not a blocker etc. look what he did to kimi last weehend. you say he is not a whinger. he has moaned a number ot times this year about being blocked himself, always when he is on a good lap. and as to beating vettel, vettel had far more bad luck whilst ahead of webber. and i think that seb outqualifyed him by about 3 or 4 to one. who has the most points?? whilst saying all that, the coming of seb to rbr, made webber raise his game. but as to being wdc m=next year???? absolutely NO CHANCE
