Kimi Raikkonen will not be of interest to Toyota for F1 2010 unless he lowers his salary demands, warns the big-budget Japanese manufacturer's motorsport president John Howett.

If his demends are too high then don't make overtures to him but you'll end up with the same results and mediocare lineup. Got to step up boys.

I assume from that picture that Howett won't be winning any 'best looking Team Principals' competitions? His face looks like one that Li'l Mo would describe as that of a bulldog chewing a wasp! lol

Been watching too much Eastenders obviously :)

Wow, breaking news: salary negotiations are just like haggling over prices. You give a price that's favorable for you, the other end gives a price that's favorable to them. You then try to meet somewhere in the middle.

Going to press like this is just bad character. What is he trying to accomplish here? Spread word to other teams that Kimi is expensive, thereby forcing Kimi to sign with Toyota?

Cause I don't see anything else to gain from publicizing details of such salary negotiations. This stuff is supposed to be private, just like the final salary they agree upon.

Where is Glock? Last season and most of this season he impressed Toyota management. Now he does not drive AND is silent. Now they are only blaming the drivers for their lack of success. Clearly, Toyota F1 management have been lashed by Tokyo for the lack of success. If they do line up on the grid in 2010, it will be an "all or nothing" campaign for that elusive win. Unfortunately, the most expensive drivers will not win in a uncompetitive car. Kimi is not known for his technical prowess to move a car up the grid. However, give him a good car and he knows how to win. No question he has something to prove to everyone next year. He will be hungry for wins. Buy Kimi.
