NASCAR star Kyle Busch is USF1's number one target and 'can win a world championship in F1' - that is the belief of the Charlotte-based newcomer's co-founder Peter Windsor

Germany's Auto Motor und Sport reports that Alex Wurz, once strongly linked with a race seat in 2010, has now given up on that opportunity.

Also claimed by the magazine is that the Charlotte based outfit wants to terminate its contract with engine supplier Cosworth, while the 60 on-site staff are currently employed only on a month-by-month basis.

Additionally, no backers with the exception of Chad Hurley have been confirmed, but the YouTube founder told USA Today: "We'll find the revenue to make a great business out of this.

Max will slap the hell out of Windsor if they back out on his Cosworth. They signed up for Cosworth and got the bid and now want a different supplier. Smoke a mirrors at USF1. Never going to hit the grid next year is my bet. That's why he still has his day job.

Though Kyle might do be good, he's never been in a F1 car or raced single seaters lately. It kind of seems USF1 is desperate and it's either Busch or no other American. Busch is too committed to Nascar and he said he'll do F1 for a couple of years and then return to Nascar. USF1 needs someone that's loyal.

If I was Peter, I'd choose Sebastian Bourdais and Graham Rahal. Sebastian is good if the setup is right and is familiar with most of the tracks. Rahal is young, knows single seaters, and has a lot of potential.

roBO1, what's the problem/s they ran into with Cosworth? Can you shed some light, I do not know/remember how much but they have put a couple of millions as dawn payment when they signed the contract with Cosworth.

sunny, its on f1sa, but doesnt say the reason. but as campos are downplaying the performance, usf1 probably think that its better to go with someone else. dont forget, there is a toyota going abegging, and possibly a ferrari, unless rbr opt for it. what is also worrying for prospective drivers, is that windsor is talking about 2011 drivers. maybe he realises there is little chance to be running in 2010.

I am hearing that a possible McL effort to help USF1 has been discussed. I assume this would mean no Merc for RedBull or ForceI. At this point it is hard to say what is going on as all parties are not being truthful.

Tanks Richard I did see it on FISA but could not make anything out of it, you might have a point in what you said but what about the contract they have signed with Cosworth? And what will happen with the FIA re this contract, might be it wasn't yet part of the deal to be excepted as a new team when they applied to enter.
RoBO1, if they get Mclaren help can they give them a Mercedes engine? Re Red Bull I read that the FIA gave the go ahead to Mercedes but Mclaren is still objecting as per their right to veto.
