bernie, there is a reccession at present! everybody is "doing deals". with most f1 circuits losing money, the time is here to come to an amicable deal with silverstone. they are not in it to make a killing, but you are! and to say "we dont need a british gp", who are the WE, is it just yourself, using the royal WE. and i am sure that if you want a new plane, someone will give you a special deal (which i am sure you would demand!)

I'm British and I agree with Alfonso - Silverstone sucks balls. Bring back Brands Hatch. There are a dozen countries out there who produce more exciting Grands Prix than Silverstone ever has.

BE - We are the only country that really desevres a GP! Let's face it, UK, US, Italy, France all deserve a spot. Just explain why Korea should have a GP, China too, when they have done exactly F all for motor sport!

Richard and Paul, I think you have it spot on, especially about bernie being greedy with money being the way it is. Tom, as for your suggestion of Brands, have you been there recently, the facilities would need so much spent on them as to make the idea a non runner. Also, the track is far to short, Adam carroll was able to put an A1GP car around there in 1'09", so F1 would be near the even minute mark, way too short for F1, the traffic situation would be chronic.

How on earth can he compare it to him wanting a plane?! HE wants the plane, ALL British motorsport fans want a British F1 race.
And his reasons for not negotiating the price is astonishing, there has ALWAYS been a British GP, if that's not tradition then I don't know what is!
Silverstone never fails to get huge crowds, why should we loose the GP when Turkey has one which attracts very few fans.

I think that, yet again, Bernie has gone too far PLEASE Bernie don't let the money talk to you!!!

Seriously, Silverstone and all these 'other' tracks should tell stumpy where to shove it.

silverstone should offer greedo half of what he got last year on a take it or leave it basis with options for 10 years.
