what was i saying about 1 wdc win and he thinks he's michael schumacher.
he should be grateful to ross brawn for getting him the championship not trying to screw him for eight million.
soon he'll think he's ayerton senna and be demanding a million a race, even though senna would have wiped the floor with him.

let him go ross and keep rubens.

Well I think that Button will be driving a Toro Rosso next season :p

Personally, I think that it's not looking good for Brawn and Button, shame really after the 'miracle' season they've had, this report confirms money tension within the team and also the fact that Jenson does not have a contract for next season yet. I'd be interested to know if it is because Button is being greedy or Brawn unfair.
Either way they need to sort something out soon or there'll be no decent seats or drivers left.

And if Button goes, will Barrichello stay, hmmm...

:)

He almost ran for nothing last year to get in the car that was gifted to Brawn. Now because he wins in a sure thing he goes off about 8mil. When he compromised himself to Brawn last year it set the tone for the future. Live with it. Brawn got you for cheap and now he is going to hang the ride over your head until Jenson agrees to a small raise. Which is about what he is worth.

reagrdless of Jensons capabilty as a GP driver he is now a WDC which must count for something, he has taken massive pay cuts and now when its probably a fairly big pay day for Brawn GP after winning the constructors too. It is inevitable that this will bring sponsers to the team which in turn gives them more money, Jenson and his manager know this and they want a bigger cut. If we take a look at Kimi in the ferrari who has done nothing more than wrecked a few force indias over the 2 previous seasons and made maybe 50 - 60 million for it. Why shouldnt Jenson take home a bit more coin.

Not like Button is short of a few bob - not sayng he should drive for nothing, but a bit of loyalty would be nice. No time for money grabbers in any situation. Not surprised his agent s belating about cash - he's only after his percentage.

The reality of the situation is that braun will be struggling mid-pack next season and all the extra cash from winning this years constructors championship will be badly needed to develop the car next season. He's being as thrifty as he can be, but its giving him bad PR. Jenson should be an ambassador to the sport and take watever mclaren offer to secure the drive.

I still wonder if Brawn have actually got much to spare in the coffers.

They just seemed to run on a bit of a shoestring this year, a bit like Williams never quite in the big money, and neither of them had a real big sponsor.

i seem to remember that a number of former wdcs made more from sponsorship and merchandising, than from their contract. even if button drove for the same figure (2.7m) he is still making a lot, and astute sponsorshop would probably bring in another 5m. he should then be able to fly business class, and pay his laundry bills.

I think Button is paying (literally) for his poor form during the second half of the season.

Ross Brawn is no fool and I reckon should be capable of judging the true value of a driver.

Button's manager said "He has displayed his great talent in a good car this year"

He's got that the wrong way round. Button displayed his good talent in a great car.
