i hope piquet does get a drive in f1 without a figure like flavio the snake oil salesman putting him under undue pressure. lets face it he's a far better driver than grosjen has proved to be. all gro seems to do is spin at every other corner!

2pac is right, Grosjean has shown how good Piquet was, I look forward to seeing him back in F1 and his dad making life more uncomfortable for the cheat Alonso.

How bad was Badoer really ? In retrospect, like Piquet, his replacement, who almost everybody expected way better from, has grossly.

Given how Nandocentric Renault was you wonder if Piquet, with a bit of care and attention, might actually turn out to be one of the very best of his generation. I said "might" ... :p

I've said it before, Nelson wasn't handed a ride in F1 because of his name - his lower formula record is outstanding. He hasn't forgotten how to drive but a change of scenery without the pressure of Flavio and driving next to a 2 time champion may do him some good.

I don't care how good his GP2 record was, or how famous his name is. He should never have been granted immunity in that scandal and regardless of the truth or not of his statements, he doesn't deserve a seat in F1 or any other formula for that matter.

alan, try and put yourself in the young mans position. we can all sit and say we wouldn't have done such a foolish and potentially dangerous thing but have we ever been under such intense pressure. it's very difficult to walk in another mans shoes when you've never had the same experience. so i for one don't condone what he did but i have enough humility to understand WHY.
and regardless of his reasons why, the most important thing is that the truth was outed and we saw what a real snake flavio and co were. how franco escaped i will never know but that's a whole other story.

So, Bernie chooses who drives for who.

That explains it?

2pac says it all. Other drivers also expressed the same opinion about Flav-hitman and his pseudo F1 management techniques. Piquet Jr has enourmous talent and when he signs with a legitimate team and stronger car, his performance will speak for itself. On more than one occasion, driving inferior hardware than Alonsos, he managed a good lead as well as ahead of KR (well, that is not a good comparison). The foundation of F1 are their drivers, not the board-room types who manipulate drivers like commodities as Flav did. Piquet Jr has 3X-WDC in his genes, he is highly competitive and will surprise naysayers in the coming seasons when he gets his new ride. And I hope with Cosworth powerplant!

Two things:

1) Bernie should f*** off out of it and stop trying to force teams to take the drivers he wants to see in their cars. It is nothing to do with him, the greedy little troll.

2) Piquet was crap in his one and a half seasons of F1, so why the hell would Campos want to sign him up? Plus, he's a race-fixing, no-morals, talentless whining lowlife. A bit like Alonso, apart from the talentless bit.
