F1 » Abu Dhabi star Kobayashi all-but secures Toyota F1 2010 seat

As job interviews go, Kamui Kobayashi's points-scoring performance for Toyota in only his second-ever F1 start in the inaugural Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has to go down as a mightily impressive one.

Totally agree - and Kimi, accept the other seat... That car is a lot better than its results to date.

Well they'd be pretty silly not to give him a drive, not only is he very fast but he's also Japanese.

Those few laps in the 2nd stint when he just kept putting in fastest laps were amazing, plus he was on the pace of the front runners AND he beat Trulli, despite qualifying 6 places behind.

Kobyashi and Kovalainen to Toyota?

Koba should definitely get a drive. He's putting the fun back into F1. Shameful how they have treated Glock though, I hope he gets in at Renault. As for a number one driver, Kovalainen is a good bet - he hasn't lived up to his potential, neither have Toyota so they should fit perfectly. Please don't let them take Nakajima. And Kimi should steer well clear - as he said himself "it's not cool to drive a bad car". Priceless.

The inside talk in the paddock this weekend is that Toyota will def be leaving F1.
Staff were shopping around the other teams for jobs.

dice thats disturbing news but then if they do leave sauber will be there to take the place at least.

If they dont go off then they have to give this guy a seat he is amazing! such a pleasure and joy to watch him drive over the last 2 race weekends.

Only one thing will ever make Toyota race winners - Move the factory to England.

Move the factory to England? That'll spell the end for Toyota then. If it is one thing us Brits are good at, it is messing things up! The Olympics is going to be horrendous!

If Toyota don't sign up Kobayashi as one of thier drivers then the entire team is stupid!

I think Kobis performances might actually keep Toyota in F1.
