Kimi, Don't be sad you have a years salary in your back pocket, Ferrari stopped developing the car too early and you did win in Spa with a great drive.

Go rallying for a year maybe.

Then again maybe McLaren will pay you what you are asking for, I hope so I would love to see your no nonsense attitude up against Lewis in a McLaren.

F1 » Raikkonen: Sad to end my time with Ferrari like this

Kimi Raikkonen could only finish twelfth in Abu Dhabi, his final event with Ferrari and also the final round of the 2009 F1 season.

May not be the best or desired results for KR & Ferrari but at least KR brought the car across the finish line in one piece.

He won't be at McLaren next year. He won't settle for being a No. 2 driver and neither will Hamilton. McLaren could hardly cope with Alonso and Hamilton.

Mabye if he had woken up at crucial points during the season he might still be in a Ferrari next year or have had a better year.

It is good to hear warm words about Kimi from a soon to be ex-employer. I dont think many teams in the paddock would agree that they were in fault for not providing a competitive car.
Also we will wait and see where Kimi ends up.. There is no denying that he is fast. I would like to have him and Hamilton in the same car to eveluate them head to head.

Personally i feel kimi would drive a Mclaren for nothing next year. After all he does have £25 million for that already!
What is holding up the deal is probably Kimi seeking assurance from McLaren over his status within the team.
He will not sign up as No.2 and will want to be guaranteed equality, something his fellow countryman Kovalainen had a word with him about.... no doubt!

If he does end up at McLaren it will be a great spectacle because he just doesn't care he does what he wants, the issue is do McLaren really want the hassle of two ex WDC in the same team? McLaren do not have the best history of managing two very talented people:

Senna/Prost
Alonso/Hamilton

I have my doubts that he will be in F1 next year.

I feel the trouble for Kimi is that he is just too big for the game. He gets way too much money and is not prepared to compromise to move to a smaller team, take a pay cut, like others have, and he is not in a commanding position to demand what he expects. All the teams are scaling down and are facing finacial cytbacks and unless Kimi does the same, he wont get what he expects. I would love to see him at Mc, but he will butt heads with LH, which would be a good thing for me, but no good for the team and for morale. No one can afford to pay him to be the top tomale!

Mcl would love to have Kimi but Money is the issue. Mcl can build a podium car and if Kimi wants another WDC he should sign for Mcl, but is he bothered? He seems more interested in getting paid which is disappinting cause Kimi is top, top driver

Mclaren does not have a choice. Don't forget Ferrari is running with 2 potential WDC. Unless they wanna just concentrate on Hamilton for the WDC and forget about the Constructors, Mclaren need both drivers to be as competitive as Ferrari.

@ Ebbie - your right Kimi does not care about anybody except Kimi. That's why Ferrari sacked him. Ferrari signed him on that massive contract because he was the best - better even than FA but in 2008 he could have helped FM beat LH to the WDC but could'nt care less. Still, I can't help but like the guy!
