F1 » Renault muse following Toyota out of F1

On Tuesday it was Bridgestone, on Wednesday Toyota - is Renault set to become F1's latest casualty on Thursday, as the French manufacturer calls an emergency board meeting..?

It would not be that surprising considering that there seems to be little hope of a race in France anytime soon. If the British GP goes how many more will walk? Like Bridgestone this will affect GP2 as well.

Maybe this is just the start of Flavio's breakaway series?

All these manufacturers that came in the last few years have ruined f1, the ones that have left and that are leaving were the ones who couldnt win and were never going to, good riddance to them and long live the privateer

This comes as no surprise. Since the beginning of F1 manufactures have come and gone. I've said for years that F1 should be full of private teams like Williams with manufactures only being engine suppliers. Unlike a manufacture where selling cars is their business, with teams like Williams F1 is their only business.

Alan - actually Renault are one of the most successful manufacturers so I am not sure where the cannot win comment came from.

It would be a shame to see Ren-oh go. They have cleansed themselves of all the slime beings and Bob Bell seems to have his head on straight unlike Briatore who was just an egotistical dictator. I would like to see Renault stay in F1 and make a new start for themselves without Briatore and Alfonso.

I was worried about this even since Bob Bell popped up and said they were focussing on the 09 season, when that was alrady a lost cause.

I doubt there is a 2010 car anywhere - engine supply is probably the best we can hope for.
