Is this the sort of deadline that DVLL had? that went on for months.
Oh god, we are never going to have a decision.
Don't sign it guys, selling your soul to the devil never works out well. Let it go, F1 will collapse under its own rotten weight, and then we can rebuild from the ashes something better!

If the BRDC don't sign, I'll eat my hat.

Personnally, I don't want them to sign as I don't like Silverstone and think it is a poor track in comparision to other F1 venues.

He gives Silverstone 48 hrs, yet gives Donington an extension to the extension of the extension....which they still don't meet.

Nice to see Bernie is retaining a bit of consistency here...

@andrewmac

I think you have mentioned your opinion on Silverstone once before.

I am sure I recall reading your dislike for the circuit. Or perhaps I am imagining it.

I agree with BRITFAN, call the bluff. And if it isn't a bluff Silverstone still wins by not becoming bernie's b*tch.

If it's a cash issue then surely all the drivers and teams who want Silverstone to get the British GP should see whether they've got any spare change in their pockets since the fans always come last when any upgrades happen at Silverstone.

They should not sign. BRDC should take their time to redevelopepe the site, because it does need some tlc,ready for 2011/12. Then they can pick their own terms and have a great track!
Simples!

Bernie's bargaining position isn't as great as you might think. Silverstone were already resigned to not having the British GP for the next 17 years. If Bernie takes the GP elsewhere then they are still no worse off tyhan they were 6 months ago. Bernie's only hope is that they won't sign so he can hide behind saying "Well I offered it to Silverstone on the same terms as Donington and they turned it down".
