Seems harsh to me. Did the court really expect Etihad to stick their logo on a car with Kingsfisher stamped all over it?

I am surprised there was no clause in the contract demanding that no conflicting sponsors come on board. It makes sense and I would have thought it would be pretty standard in sponsorship.

If Esso brought Ferrari tomorrow and plastered their logo on it would anyone expect Shell to keep paying them and have their logo alongside. Of course not.

From the article: "Etihad and Aldar both continue to investigate the possibility of appealing against the court's decision."

So what's going to happen now?

Are Eithad and Aldar going bring their laptops and photos to show to everyone that Force India did not give them enough car space? :)

According to the report and a few other sources the Kingfisher in the cars in Vijay Mallya's own airline not the beer. If you look at Kingfisher Airlines logo, it is the same as the logo on the cars. VM has nothing to do with the beer.

andrew, kingfisher is a generic brand, such as virgin. part of mallyas defence was that it was the kingfisher beer that he was advertising. nowhere on the cars was there mention of an airline, just as on the brawns, here is just virgin sponsorship,no mention of cola, or music or airline.

Maybe you need to learn certain things new. KF beer is quite popular in india. Do a search.
