Would absolutely LOVE to see him get the Macca seat. I could not agree more with Whitmarsh on how underrated Heidfeld is. Without a doubt he thoroughly deserves a GP victory and in a Macca-Merc, I can see him scoring a fair few.

F1 » Raikkonen demands to send McLaren Heidfeld way?

Having beaten him to a coveted McLaren-Mercedes seat eight years ago, Kimi Raikkonen could be set to do Nick Heidfeld a favour - by pricing himself out of Woking's reach for F1 2010.

Arguably the quickest German in the last 10-15 years.

Quick Nick is top of my wish list for Lewis' teammate. Please please let it happen. Kimi is overrated and greedy and too unmotivated. Heidfeld would be perfect!!!!

I really really hope this happens. Heikki is not good enough, and Kimi does seem more interested in money than having a race-winning car. So let him go off to the WRC and give Quick Nick the chance he so richly deserves. I've been hoping Macca take Heidfeld ever since BMW decided to quit. He is underrated and SO needs his first F1 victory. I don't suppose he'll react as excitedly as Webber did though :)

It is being reported that Raikonen could earn more from a sabatical rather than racing. If this is true, I reckon Heidfeld will be at a McLaren next year, but will he be allowed to race Hamilton? He is one of the quickest out there but tends to be in cars that are absolute dogs.

"Ferrari promised to pay the 18-time grand prix-winner €17 million if he does not compete in F1 in 2010, or €10m if he does."

That is quite errrrr, well how would you describe it?

Crafty, shrewd, bizarre, disgusting, basically paying off the potential opposition for your own two drivers.

Words fail me!

PERSONALLY, i think Nick should get the saet.

Raikkonen should take a year off, earn $17million and go rallying, and possibly look to driving a Red Bull in 2011.... They said previously they would like him but cant in 2010 cos drivers are signed, and with Red Bull having another good season Kimi Could give them a decent shot at the title in 2011

Have to agree with you guys, and you know how cranky that makes me!
Quick nick would be far suited in the silver arrow.
Kimi is overrated, overpaid and not exactly Mr personality. Who would want him at sponsorship days anyway!
Give it to Heidfeld! :)

I actually think Vettel and Webber are quicker than Kimi.

Heidfeld's possibly the most underrated driver in F1 while I'm certain Kimi's up there as one of the most overrated.
