Hope he stays. Think he was genuinely hurt by what happened at Ferrai. If he gets a sniff of beating them next next just watch him go. Did an excellent job with a c**p car for second half of this season. Didnt get the credit he deserved for putting Ferrai in fourth on Constructors Champ nad only one point behind McClaren...who had two drivers!!

F1 » 'Motivated' Raikkonen will only stay in F1 if he can 'fight'

Former world champion Kimi Raikkonen bids a fond 'ciao' to Ferrari and turns his attentions towards the future - as he re-iterates that only a competitive car will keep him in F1 in 2010.

Motivated ? By What ? .... money it seems to me.

If he's that motivated he needs to wake up and smell the coffee, drop his outrageous wage demands and he'll be able to jump into the Mclaren and show us if he still has it or not - I think he has, but he'll have his work cut out with Lewis on the other side of the garage.
I think they are both going to have to relearn their trade next year 'cos it won't all be about raw speed from the getgo, if they drive like they have this year their tyres will be shot and they will flounder, they are going to have to smooth out their styles and think a little - I think next years regs play right into the hands of Button to successfully defend his title :

Does anybody else think we'll be seeing him in a Ferrari soon enough? have this feeling Massa will not be fit enough for next season - the start, at least.

If he does not get a ride, Ferrari will always have him on the payroll to fill in for Felipe.

I'd like to ask -- seriously -- how everyone is so sure that Kimi isn't motivated or isn't trying. Does everyone have some insight that I'm not aware of? Surely everyone has come to a rational and clear conclusion that it wasn't the car that was slow, or the tracks that didn't suit it.

100% agree dario...always wanted to know how everyone knows hes not motivated to win.

Dont think can drive for Ferrai next year..he was 'paid off' by them so I think he is off the books.

Kimi is the fastest purest racer out there. He is sick of the posturing, the politics and fake PR - and simply wants to race with a genuinely fast car. If he gets it, watch him wipe the floor with Massa, Alonso and Hamilton.

Well said Dario.

I think that because his life does not revolve soley around F1 its easy to attach rumours of a lack of motivation to him. It probably doesnt help that he is such a private person and refuses to confirm or deny any of the media reports so they just run.
Remember when he was practically guaranteed (according to the media) to retire at the end of the 2009 season but then he signed that contract extension with Ferrari?

Hopefully he will still be around next season because whether you like him or not there is no denying that his racing is brilliant to watch and F1 would be poorer without him (not in financial terms though, obviously :))
