andrew mac........ childish and foolish remarks....Gascoyne's comments are welcomed by WSBR race fans, another driver from Renaults feeder series for F1 is only good for motor racing it keeps drivers coming into the lower formulas, Fauzy deserves his chance if only for the way he drove at Nurburgring the class driver

andrew mac dont try jokes it makes you look a fool

Your comment regarding the Malaysian motorsport scene is true though they're not the only country in that situation. For Fauzy specifically, that's almost irrelevant. After karting he did 95% of his racing in Europe anyway and his family compensated for the lack of domestic support financially. He is not handicapped due to what went on back home. He had all the career opportunities to shine so he has no excuses.

Malaysian drivers do not have the advantage that many Western drivers have. The motorsport scene is not as developed as the European or the American continent. Because of that the cost for aspiring Malaysian drivers is prohibitively expensive. You won't see Malaysian kids racing in go karts, it's as expensive as a 2nd hand car.

Fauzy has raced F3, GP2, GP2 Asia, A1GP WSbR etc. He's been busy racing all his adult life so in my view he is not lacking in experience. Having said he is now 27. Raced all his life but has yet to win any single seater championships! And that I think says something. I think yes, Fauzy could use the break but will he deliver? Is he ready for F1 specifically? Environment is not like WSbR. Can he handle the pressure? There is a question mark there. There were inconsistencies in him. Though he is a much better driver today, he seems to need quite a bit of time to mature. He is not strong 'of the bat' in a new series. And there are many others for gascoyne to choose from at Fauzy's level.

AMOL -

Gascoyne wasnt the issue at FI the problem was Kolles, He fet that he had been forced into taking MG on and didnt want him there, thus he stood in his way as much as he could..

I hope MG and Lotus do well, if FI dont of course try to get them kicked out over nicking that car

max..........I'm not Malaysian and I rate Fauzy highly nothing fishy here, I "pay attention" to a driver like Fauzy who with Jon Lancaster put on the best show in WSBR this year, did you think it fishy when Jaime Alguersuari went to F1 given who is father is, Fauzy has run rings round Jaime Alguersuari all season in WSBR. Fauzy deserves his chance in F1 on merit sometimes its hard for people like you to understand racing drivers dont have to be born in Europe, and even harder for people like you to understand race fans dont care where they come from or how.
