@richard:

Judging by this years results, they couldn't this year either (or the drivers were very bad, or the Fezza engine they got was very bad).

@andrew mac

Firing Bourdais wasn't a good decision. It would have been a good decision never to hire him in the first place, but firing him halfway through the season one race before the new car arrives...that's just plain stupid.

Oh lordy!
Do you get the feeling that they don't really know whats going on at Torro Rosso?
How can two sister teams be at such polar opposites?

After some strong performances in a rubbish car, it is the only sensible choice to make and as far as I am aware, it is only Torro Rosso's 3rd sensible choice during their time in F1.

1. Hiring Vettel,
2. Firing Boordays,
3. Keeping Buemi.

This news was in fact announced yesterday by Buemi live on television.
And if Tost's comments are anything to go by, Alguersuari is all but confirmed at Toro Rosso in 2010 also.

peter, yes, i saw a report two days ago, that the current two drivers have been retained. in reality , a good choice. buemi has shown that he has speed and has a bit more experience than alguarseri. alguarseri did a good jop without any testing. with winter testing, both should be mid field next year, possibly gaining points. but it depends on str building a reasonable car. they cant use rbrs next year.

Buemi is damn fast ! If experience can bring him more consistency through a whole race and a whole season, that could be interesting.

As far as Bourdais is concerned, I'd agree that he wasn't the right guy at the right place and it wasn't the right team for him as well. But well, I can't blame him for taking what was a last gasp opportunity at the time...I really hope he can have another go, but that's my opinion.

For the rest, I don't give a *** about that team...

Man if I just had a chest of maybe 20 kilos (pure gold) I would have landed that seat...
I hear that its two seats for sale (40 kilo)
but,, what about talent. Well I hear that you can't buy talent, ether you got it or you dont.
Toro Rosso please if its gold that you need to stay on the grid, ok. please find a driver with some gold and talent, F1 should demand the latter, along with creditability....
Please no more seat warmers.

I think they should ditch Alguasari. He seemed to get worse not better, the more races that he did.
