EJ is terrific, who else could go and drag Schumacher in front of a camera and make him talk? Or what about him jumping up and down and singing with the Brawn crew after Brazil. I don't even like the guy but he's been a real shot in the arm for the BBC commentary, it'll never be dull while EJ is part of the team.

Him and Brundle are priceless, all the others are OK but could easily be replaced with little difference to the overall coverage.

F1 » BBC F1 pundit Coulthard set for return – in DTM?

BBC F1 pundit and 13-time grand prix-winner David Coulthard - statistically the most successful British driver in top flight history - could be set for a move to tin-tops in 2010.

If that's what he really wants to do then that's what I want him to do, however I would definatky miss him on the coverage. I think that him, Eddie and Jake have worked so well together, put them on the coverage and Crofty and Ant on the commentry-perfect team I'd say. Although Ant is going to be driving next year hopefully, ho hum!

:)

Don't forget David your wee spin in Monte Carlo showing the girls around in a Mercedes, (a few years ago) as the experts say, they are difficult to drive !!

If they do want to bring fresh voice in if Desperate Dan chin (DC) does go to DTM, and it would be good to see him having a competative drive, bring Maurice Hamilton into the team. He did a brilliant job doing radio commentry on F1 for Five Live along with Mr Legard. Also having met him a twice in media centres at Rally Ireland and A1GP Brands 2009, he is a gentleman. He is also so well respected among the long servers in F1, he could walk into most garages and motorhomes, he could come out with all the top stories and gossip, and probably a mug of tea into the bargain.

He also does the TV commentary for the free practice sessions on the "red button".

Agreed, he's very good.

Racefan, thanks for that little gem of info, I don't have the benefit of the red button as I get my BBC and others from someone other than Sky, but glad to see you agree with me. Or , now that it looks like A!Gp is dead in the water, Maurice's fellow countryman, John Watson, would also be a good addition. I have been lucky enough to interview John, and came across as a good bloke, who also is a mine of F1 info going back decades.
