I agree with LH. Although there is no excuse for such a big organisation to start the season with such a shed, lets look at what happened at McL versus what happened at Ferrari. McL started with a shed, turned it into a bloody good car. Ferrari started with a slightly posher shed, and it stayed a posh shed with the excepption of Spa and a bit of Monza.

F1 » Hamilton: No other team could do what McLaren did

Lewis Hamilton admits that he is full of awe for the manner in which McLaren-Mercedes transformed arguably the slowest car on the F1 grid in 2009 into the fastest come season's end.

Yes, considering that McL and Merc supplied Brawn with the best engine, gearbox, and shifter.

just looking at the headline, i thought of spygate and liargate. then i read the story. yes, mclaren did a lot of work turning the car around. but to say that it was the fastest at the years end, is a little over the top. it was ONE of the fastest!

He's completly right, no other team has had a season with so many ups & downs as McLaren this season. They scored 14 points in the first half then in Hungary everything changed and they scored the same amount of points in that 1 race as they had in the 9 races prior. Score 57 ponts in the final 8 races. Lewis scoring more than anybody.

I suppose that Force India also did a phenomenal job, especially considering their monetry situation in comparison to others, but even that wasn't as big a turn around as McLaren.

I'm 99% sure that McLaren will have atleast a decent car come Bahrain given that they've been working on it for so long and the comments they have made about it.

hannah, as always , i admire your optimism. ferrari stopped work on their car halfway through the season, to concentrate on 2010. and it showed. however as you agree, mclaren continued developing, up to the last race. bearing in mind that next years car will be considerably different, i reckon that mclaren are on the back foot already.
