F1 » Residents: We support – not oppose – Spa-Francorchamps!

Residents living close to Spa-Francorchamps have insisted that they are fully in support of the under-threat circuit continuing to stage the popular Belgian Grand Prix - as a group of them has launched an online petition in a bid to save the race's future

Shame though that Bernie squeezes the circuits so bad that Spa made a 5mn Euro loss this year, on top of a 4mn loss the year before, making the greatest and one of the most popular F1 races inviable to hold.

I've watched the race there once in 05. Maybe should go again this year before it's too late.

Bernie hates the Spa race. He cant squeeze money from it like he did with the arabs, so he decided to axe it in such way that he was not the one to blame. I guess money talk louder that traditions.

Funny how resident were always being blamed yet now we know the majority actually want the race!
Bernie needs to make spa his loss leader....or risk losing one of the worlds finest tracks :(

johnson, i am pretty certain that , for bernie, spa was not a loss leader. whatever the losses to spa, i can guarantee that bernie pocketed a packet. but yes, he could refund some of themoney to help out the organisers.

There are probably a couple of Knobhead outsiders who have moved into the area and then started to complain about the noise - just like the dikheads who move near Heathrow Airport and bleat on about aircraft noise  - these people pee me off - At least the real locals have now voiced their opinion :)

well said the (original) track was there since 1921, in otherwords i doubt any of the objecting residents are older than the track. It was there first and should have its rights too!

If F1 looses Spa it will not be worth watching. It is not only the best F1 track, it is the best in the world bar none! Would love to go sometime, in fact I would go even if there wasn't a race! :)

I have done 10+ trackdays there, please, do not let this track fall off the Radar, its fantastic, magic and every other thing you could ever wish from some tarmac.

If you get the opportunity to spectate, make the most of it. If you get a chance to drive it, you will never forget it :)
