T.W.O. Since Ecclestone makes other circuits pay through the nose for the privilege of hosting an F1 race, why should he use his own circuit? He sure wouldn't want to pay money to his employers out of his own pocket. That would never do. No, much better to get a new circuit built in India or somewhere where the national government will treat him like a visiting head of state and pay a small fortune to use F1 to publicise themselves.

The French have such a rich history of racing they must have a GP and it makes perfect sense to use the Bugatti circuit at Le Mans, they already host the Moto GP plus the 24hrs and other international events so operational skills are not in doubt, all Bernie has to do is stop trying to screw over organisers on sanction fees-remember over 50,000 brits make the trip to Le Mans every year for the 24hrs so the support is there from the public and the people of La Sarthe

Le Mans would be a perfect place (especially for me BTW)but the ACO doesn't want to pay what is asked to host F1 for a series that after all is a rival to Le Mans 24.

Someone made an add on track based on the LM24 track for the GP4 game, he called it Petite Le Mans. The layout he came out with is pretty neat. It's roughly half the Circuit de la Sarthe as cars turn right after the first Hunaudieres chicane and cut towards the end of the track. It's pretty fast as well, a sort of Hockenheim, when Hockenheim had balls ! It would have been better if it went though Porsche !

My point is it would be nice to have a dedicated layout for F1 that would not be Le Bugatti or Le Circuit de la Sarthe.
