So perhaps Mr Fry can explain, if the team needs experienced F1 people and preferably a race winner, why Barichello was ditched ? He also shows muddled thinking by stating 'he thinks Nico is a race winner ... he hasn't won a race yet'. I honestly can't see Mercedes putting up with this guy for too long.

This is bull***t, why cant they just hurruy up and make thier mind, as soon as they do then we will know who goes to Sauber and the Renault team and everything will full to place place but they gotta delay all the time!

This is getting pretty darn obnoxious, merc is milking (free publicity) this crap for all it's worth. Are they or are they not? what's the friggin big deal if it is announced. If MS is confirmed they'll still be raking it in if not they are a bunch of schemers and they'll end up hurting themselves with their silly games.

George - Have you considered the possibility that Mercedes are actually just in the middle of negotiations with Schumacher (and perhaps others), and it's the media that are milking this? Asking the same questions again and again in the hope of a slightly different answer? Or does the "conspiracy theory" angle seem more likely to you?

people keep asking why mercedes don't announce michael schumacher as there driver.

could it be that the newspapers are right and mercedes want to test him in a car first.after all they wouldn't want the fiasco that happened when he was making a comeback with ferrari.

if he passes the tests in the car he'll be announced if he doesn't another driver will be announced and mercedes can say they never said they were signing michael schumacher.

this way theres no red faces all round.

At this time it is all media ploy from the German Media and sparked on by Fry.

Read the statements. All I can see are the words rumours or reputedly.

In Aust we were informed a decision regarding the second seat would be made mid january.
