The Piquet family is understood to have taken a stake in Campos Meta, providing Nelson Jr with a seat for 2010.

Guys, I fell for this story too. motor21.com cooked up this story as part of the Spanish equivalent of 'April Fools day' which is December 28th. They've now updated their website to confirm the hoax..

It actually sounded like a true story, especially the part about Piquet Sr buying a stake in the Campos-Meta team.

Oh well, looks like he's more likely to end up in Nascar..

Right...

Still if they are actually going to go with De La Rosa it would have been a better decision to put Piquet in the car and get some cash money to boot.

Seriously...De La Rosa? Have they no sense at all at Campos? There are so many drivers I'd give that seat to before De La Rosa, even factoring in he's spanish and that helps the team attract sponsors.

Hannah.

While I'm not against Piquet getting a seat, I think it's appauling that he could BUY a seat while Davidson doesn't get one simply coz he doesn't have £5 million to hand. Listened to the interview from Anthony that Crash put on a few days ago, he implied that he had basically given up on getting a seat for next season (although he is still looking and in talks with various teams) and said that teams had offered him drives...if he could take money with him.

He also said that if he couldn't win an F1 WDC, then he wanted to win Le Mans so good luck to him :D

hannah, if ant was as good as you want him to be, he would be offered a seat. even if there was no pay or no sponsorship money. he needs to PROVE himself a bit more. there are many other drivers who dont have a seat yet could beat davidson hands down!

The article on Motor21 dot com was published on December 28th, which is el Dia de los Santos Inocentes, the Spanish equivalent of April Fools day.
The article WAS a HOAX, they themselves admit it! Go to their website, click on the formula 1 link, then the link to the article titled Os lo tragasteis?, meaning - did you fall for it?
